What would be a reasonable price for...
W'sup guys! Tired of being annoyed and aggrivated because your team repeatedly fail to get you to crafter? Lucky for you- the aggrivation stops here! *lol let me shut up, this starting to sound like a informercial*
Well.. my guild & I (Hall of Zeroes) are planning to run a FOW service. Meaning we can clear the path towards the crafter for those who are interested in getting the armors and get you there safely&painlessly. What's giving me a hard time to set up this service- is the reasonable fee I should charge. We're a very experienced group and been successful with this countless number of times.
I guess I would have to receive the payment first (which I don't know the amount yet). But believe me, I wouldn't put my reputation on the line and rip anyone for their gold. I'm a very trustworthy person, you can ask many people that I've dealt with on Guru for these past several monthes.
Further on, We planning to do a 5-6 Man Team run in FOW (which leaves up to three clients); simply because it's more profit in the pocket on the run, instead of just doing it for a single client. We highly suggest for the clients to stay back or die (no offense) in the beginning (we will return and ressurect you of course :P), cause we really don't wanna deal with childish behavior/unexperienced players who 'accidently' might aggro a mob or personally mess up our gameplay/strategy.
Last but not least, my simple question is... What would be the right price to charge for this kind of service?

Hey Coolyguy, this may shock you, but I have done this "rush" for people for as much as 200K. Well, actually 199K, because when they are paying that much, the least I can do is fork over the entrance fee, right? It depends on their urgency to get there and ability to pay, but it costs well over a million for the materials, and so the cost of avoiding all the bad PUGs and wasted time trying to get there by just hiring an expert is well worth it for people, and the amount quickly pales in comparison to the cost of the materials.
I do have people pay in advance, I remind them to refill their gold supply before we leave so they aren't stuck there with insufficient gold to get their armor. I refund if something goes wrong (someone loses connection or whatever and we don't make it), and I generally let them offer an amount, and will take as little as 100K for the run if I am in the mood to do FoW and assemble an exceptional team myself. I would charge as much as you believe is fair, remembering that it takes a long time both assembling the team, making sure the whole team is excellent, and fighting your way there and through the missions. The only time I felt kind of bad charging was one guy who offered 150K, if I remember right, for help getting to the forgemaster and once we were there, all he bought was the helmet!
When I go I usually give my shards to other people who helped the team, or to the customer, as a thanks for the business, and it makes them feel good about the service.

this could be a great service since it is very difficult to grab a good PUG in ToA especially if youre a warrior..but as BlueSteel just mentioned, you might consider those who just want a certain piece cause paying full load on one piece might hurt the customer and it may hurt the buisness as well. i for one just want the helm and ive been holding back since looking for or creating PUGs in ToA are mostly a waste of time and if you do get a good group, they leave even before the forgemaster.
for pricing anyways, i guess 100-150K for the whole set per person wouldnt be half as bad, for per piece 30-45K would sound fair since it is hard to get thru all that and have 2-3 men down. this is just my own opinion. but a hard thing that i see here is how to keep track of people who just want certain pieces or the whole set.
just a couple of comments and i hope this turns out to be a success.

If they have the money to buy the armor then they would probably have the extra 100k-200k layign around but you would come around with people who dont have the money too.

Thanks to those who responded.
Kassad - It takes over an hour possibly to get to crafter. I can make more then 10K from Soloing Griffons & not have to split with guildies. heh.
LBS - Your always makin' that gold aren't cha! >:
As for Caldebog, theres no possible way I can know how many peices they buying. They can be lying and say they buying 1 peice when in reality they buying full set; just so they can pay me cheaper. But from your ideas, 100-150K for full set [5 peices]. 30-45K for one peice. Might as well cut it somewhere in the middle.. 85K-100K sounds fair?

personally, i wouldnt pay more than like 10-15k, cause ive made it to forge master all the time lol. But i cant really say what people might pay. I know theres always people out there complaining they can never make it. You could probably get over 50k from people whoa re desprate tho. Always depends on who you find

7k?
You've gotta be kidding right?
I'll throw in a random number too, as per coolyguy's PCs.
92.5k sounds nice to me.

Good Idea, but then again like coolguy was saying, how would you relaly know what they were getting?, they could give you 20k , and say they need helm,gloves,ect... yet once you get there , they get all 5 pieces and then just keep the others in inventory, i say just a flat rate of 80-100k per person, just my thoughts!

i was thinking about it as well...but i dont see any viable solution to this but to put in a flat rating system...since most probably the ones who will aqcuire this service are hopefully the ones who want the whole set rather than just a piece of it. now it is the customers choice if they want to take time and find a group to get one piece or to pay the flat rate to get a group that will do the fighting for you...80-100K seems fair since its for a whole set and it pays 5 persons at least and not just one...

Hi guys, I appreciate those who are putting their time & effort into helping me sorting this out. Most here have agreed 80K-100K seems to be reasonable, and a few thinks 5K-20K - which are the ones who can probably never afford FoW armor I guess?
Now that I have a baseline pricing to charge, I still need to find a way to get them to trust me. If not, this Service just wouldn't work. Maybe a collateral before the trip? a 75K armor with Sup Vigor on it sounds like a trusty collateral to you guys? cause that's the only method I can think of right now.
Also kind of off-topic but how much do people pay to get themselves a Spider? Definitely expect a UW Spidey Service from us in this upcoming week `;P

Exactly on the trust - someone (other than posters on this board) is not going to give you 100K at the beginning of a trip without some sort of collateral.
The armor idea is the most typical, although there's a real danger to having someone not return the armor to you at the end of the trip...they've then essentially paid 50K and gotten to salvage a superior vigor for their new armor worth 50K.
I would use a customized weapon instead, if you have one that is clearly (in and of itself) worth more than 100K (without upgrades). That way they can't salvage it, use it, or resell it.
